Chanhassen Dinner Theatres is seeking several local actors for their currently running production of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.

Character Description

Track 1: Drifter / Ensemble: Black, Male-Presenting, Playable age of 20s-40s. Member of the doo-wop group The Drifters, as well as other ensemble features. This track sings the “baritone” part of the quartet, and serves as the understudy for the “second tenor.” Vocal Range: B2-C5. Ability to deliver great R&B vocal style with tight harmonies is essential. Strong mover. This track begins rehearsals mid-late May.

Track 2: Drifter / Ensemble: Black, Male-Presenting, Playable age of 20s-40s. Member of the doo-wop group The Drifters, as well as other ensemble features. Ability to deliver great R&B vocal style with tight harmonies is essential. Strong mover. This track begins rehearsals mid August.

Track 3: Shirelle / Ensemble: Black, Female-Presenting, Playable age of 20s-40s. Member of the doo-wop group The Shirelles, as well as other ensemble features. This track sings the lead solo on “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” and “Uptown,” as well as the “Poison Ivy” feature in “1650 Medley.” Vocal Range: G3-D5. Ability to deliver great R&B vocal style with tight harmonies is essential. Low alto belter. Strong mover. This track begins rehearsals mid- August.
