DESCRIPTION
There's trouble in River City, Iowa, when a fast-talking salesman gets his heart stolen by the town librarian. Meredith Willson’s The Music Man is a family-friendly musical full of show stopping numbers (“Ya Got Trouble,” “76 Trombones”) and beautiful ballads (“Til There Was You”). It offers roles for children (Winthrop, Amaryllis, Ensemble), singers (Marian, barbershop quartet), dancers (“Marian the Librarian” dance number), and comedic actors (traveling salespeople, Pick-a-Little Ladies, Mayor Shinn and Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn).
PERFORMANCE DATES:
Friday and Saturday, August 2 & 3, 9 & 10 at 7pm
Sunday, August 4 & 11 at 2pm
REHEARSALS:
Rehearsals begin on June 11. They'll be scheduled Monday-Friday or Sunday-Thursday evenings depending on performer's availability. No rehearsal June 23-28, July 4.
AUDITION DATES:
May 6 & 7, 6:30-9:30pm. Callbacks as needed on May 9.
AUDITION FORMAT:
Please prepare 16 - 32 bars or 60 seconds of a song to sing and be prepared to move for dance auditions. Bring your own sheet music for our accompanist, or use the example song provided HERE.
