Seeking Theater Technician - Spring Semester 2015

North Hennepin Community College is seeking a theater technician for spring semester 2015 (January 12, 2015 through May 1, 2015). Primary duties are:
• Build and supervise construction of the sets and properties for spring productions (Melancholy Play and Violet).
• Work with student crew to provide set, lighting and sound setups for productions.
• Maintain appropriate storage of props and set pieces, safety, cleanliness and maintenance of equipment, including appropriate storage and disposal of hazardous materials, including paint.

SYNOPSIS: A young Muslim woman takes her questions about wearing hijab to YouTube, drawing an illuminating range of responses from other American Muslims – despite the antics of her younger brother – and offering a unique perspective of Islam in 21st Century America.

Stages Theatre Company Youth AUDITIONS

Stages Theatre Company in collaboration with Escalate Dance is auditioning youth actors, singers and dancers ages 9 - 18 for Twelve Dancing Princesses. Both male and female roles are available.

Tuesday, January 6 & Wednesday, January 7, 6:30 - 8:00 pm.

For the audition, please prepare a song of two minutes or less to be sung a capella and dress for movement.

Rehearsals will be held Sunday afternoons & Tue-Fri evenings from Jan 27 – Feb 20. Beginning Feb 23 evening rehearsals will be Mon-Fri through March 5.

Wanted: Artists for Phoenix Cabaret

Seeking artists of all disciplines to be part of The Phoenix Theater's weekly cabarets.

The Phoenix Theater is looking for performance artists, dancers and musicians and theatre artists to be part of our weekly cabarets. Performers are asked to prepare roughly 15 minutes worth of material to fill spots in a variety style show featuring 5 to 6 acts a night. Shows will be emceed and hosted at our new space at 2605 Hennepin avenue in Minneapolis on Tuesdays at 7 o'clock. Food and drink will be available and patrons will pay a cover which includes a free drink.
