The Production Team of the musical "Philly" is seeking a very creative experienced playwright for collaboration on 1970's/1980's period musical. Musical composition is not required.
This is an entrepreneurial, shared copyright, non-compensated opportunity with a team that has just recently successfully brought its first big stage musical into production.
The preferred writer:
• A practiced/trained screenplay or theatrical writer

• Someone who creatively thinks outside the box and can apply their creativity to maximize audience appeal

"Why Theatre?" is a research into the moment when the audience breathes with the performer, the moment that the performer's honesty contaminates the audience's imagination and the performance can take them anywhere . . . A series of simple, powerful five minute pieces, "Why Theatre?' will be performed in public spaces around the Twin Cities in July. Director Shante' Zenith is still searching for five more performers to be involved — it will be a very flexible time commitment that should be workable around fringe rehearsals and job schedules.
