This survey of Minnesota Actors will investigate if and how the chemistry of a particular character — an “upper” or “downer” role – affects an actor’s health. “Downer” parts are often called sick and painful, while the “Uppers” are recognized as healthy, “feel good” energizers.

For more than five years now, Springboard for the Arts has been partnering with low-cost medical, alternative and dental clinics to offer vouchers for artists to use towards healthcare services. Now, thanks to the generosity of our partners and Leveraging Investments in Creativity (LINC), artists can apply for two vouchers for each of our partner clinics! That means two free visits at Everspring Health and two $40 vouchers to use towards one visit (up to $80) or two visits at Family Dental Care, N.I.P.

Dances on High Theatre looking for the company , who wants to adapt 16 plywood painted set cubs.The are folded , right now and take not as much as space as unfolded.(3 sides inside 3 sides)It takes about 45min to put them back together. 4 painted scenes on each side of the cub, allow just turning the cubs and get another scene(meadow,tavern,sheep,castle) It takes one empty van or track to move them! Great for any children play!

Springboard for the Arts, in partnership with the N.I.P. Community Clinic and Twin Cities Musicians Union, is presenting a Free Screening and Vaccination Day for Artists on Saturday, November 12. Screenings include cholesterol, blood sugar/diabetes, hemoglobin, vision (eye-chart), depression (mental health), blood pressure, STI screenings for men, HIV and pregnancy testing. There will be influenza (flu-shots) and Tdap (combined Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis) vaccinations.

Applause Community Theatre (ACT) is doing some fall cleaning at their Burnsville storage facility on Saturday, October 8. Those interested in free theatre construction materials including, platforms, flats (specialty and standard), small stair units, and raw lumber. Please visit us between 9 am and 3 pm. Calling all Ghouls & Goblins, junior high school age and older, to be part of a spectacular new Halloween event at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Volunteer for Ghouls & Goblins at the Arboretum on Saturday, October 29, 11am-5pm. The event is FREE to the public and is geared towards 3-12 year olds and their families. There will be family activities in the Visitor Center and a half-mile long Trick or Treat Trail to the Magical Hedge Maze.
