Prospero Theatre’s premiere performance.
In a modern adaptation of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, Sarah Ruhl follows Eurydice down into the underworld after she dies on her wedding day. Her husband Orpheus, the most beloved musician in the world, mourns her death through music, but determines to fight for her life. Meanwhile, Eurydice reunites with her father, who, at the protest of cranky Stones and the peculiar Lord of the Underworld, helps her to remember the life she lost.
