2 Training Opportunities – Actor Typing Workshop & Ongoing Scene Study Class

CEL Studio is offering two training opportunities, an Actor Typing Workshop and an Ongoing Scene Study Class.

The Actor Typing Workshop is one session that meets Monday May 13, from 6 to 9 pm, at Grain Belt Bottling House Studios in NE Minneapolis.  The cost is $125.

Knowing your playable types and marketing them in your headshots is a common practice in more competitive markets.  With a more competitive Film Production Tax Credit local actors are up against more seasoned performers from larger markets for jobs in Minnesota.  Actors here should be representing themselves in the same way.

In this professional development workshop we cover the importance of understanding an actor’s playable types and how to translate that information into effective headshots.  The goal being to increase your chances of being seen for roles you are right for.

Actors walk away with actionable, valuable, individualized information they can use to take their acting pursuits to the next level.

The Ongoing Scene Study Class is designed for actors who want to develop their craft, who are interested in challenging themselves by working in a way that is more concentrated and provides a process to connect more deeply to the work.

This class meets eight Tuesdays, May 21, 28, June 4, 11, 18, 25, July 2, and 9, from 6 to 9 pm, also at Grain Belt Bottling House Studios. Our focus is on personalizing the work using scenes and exercises. The cost of the class is $250.

Actors like athletes need to workout to stay in shape. Continuing to challenge yourself with scene study, character development and acting exercises are powerful ways for actors to continue their growth.
